A village
that located 24 kilometers away in western of Nakorn Si Thammarat provice
called Kiriwong. The village is already 300 years old with the great history. People
who’re living here have pretty different and unique style of life. In the very first
time when the first people who were settled here escaped from the military during
the reign of King Rama I the village was called “Kun-Nam Village. Then they
built a temple called “Kiriwong Temple” thus the name of village was changed too.
After the massive disaster and a flood have destroyed the village, the people
came up with their own solution and became the community of self dependent. There have been practicing a lot of local product,
handmade art and crafts to help each other grain more income. Recently people
from everywhere come here to learn its way of life and wisdom the village and
the village has become even more famous with its purest air in the village. They
also won the excellent award of Thailand Tourism in 1998 in city and community
category.
